Welcome

Learning Yoga requires being attentive in two directions at once. Only when we are aware of both our inner and outer worlds can we experience the reality of the present moment.

When I joined my first yoga lesson in 1975, I felt immense gratitude for being introduced to such a vast field of ancient wisdom. I was fortunate in having a very special guide in Vanda Scaravelli. She invited me to open up - like a flower - from the centre. Flowers, plants and animals never hurry and yet they grow into the most wonderful variety of forms.

To learn to let go seemed like an impossible task. Vanda's respectful approach was soothing and yet demanded total attention. What I learned was that breath is the key that can open thousands of doors - an infinitesimal but incredibly powerful laser capable of removing layers of tension. To experience this is very often like being on the crest of an ocean wave, a simultaneous feeling of delight and resistance.

It is this legacy of Vanda's that I am trying to pass on in my teaching.

This website is here to help you find out more about the groups I work with, my teaching and the books I've written.
Enjoy.
